Terms and conditions

The rules for using the CarPassport app and carpassport.ro. By using the app, you accept these terms and the Privacy policy.

1. Who provides the service

CarPassport is provided by Navitech Systems S.R.L., tax ID (CUI) RO44938033, trade register no. J2021001800334, registered office at Str. Zimbrului nr. 3, Mun. Suceava, jud. Suceava, 720217. You can write to us at contact@navitech.systems.

2. What CarPassport is

CarPassport is an iPhone and Android app where you keep track of your cars: documents, interventions, mileage and due dates. When you sell a car, you can create a passport: a public page with the history you choose, which the buyer opens by link or QR code, without an account.

Free, with no subscription, you get: unlimited cars in one account, reminders for MOT, insurance, road toll and service, documents, interventions and mileage, expense history and invoice scanning, up to the monthly limit shown in the app.

3. Your account

  • You create an account with an email and password, or with Apple or Google. You must be at least 16. To pay, you need full legal capacity or a parent's consent.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens in your account.
  • Only enter details about cars you own or have the right to manage.

4. The passport and its payment

  • Each passport is paid for once, separately. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically.
  • You pay through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), at the price the store shows before you confirm. The store processes the payment; we only receive its confirmation.
  • A passport is for a single car and is valid for the period you choose (30, 60 or 90 days) from activation. While it is live, you can change its validity between these options.
  • Before publishing, you go through every invoice included and confirm the personal-data areas to be covered. Without this check, the passport is not published.
  • A new passport paid for the same car turns off the previous one.
  • You can turn off a passport at any time. Turning it off does not entitle you to a refund.

5. Refunds and the right of withdrawal

A passport is digital content supplied immediately after payment. Before paying, in the app, you tick a box asking for the passport to be supplied immediately and acknowledging that you thereby lose the 14-day right of withdrawal (Art. 16(m) of Romanian Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014). Without that tick, the payment cannot be made. We keep the moment of your consent and the version of the terms at that time.

Refunds are requested through the store you bought from (App Store or Google Play), under its rules. If the store refunds the payment, the passport is turned off.

6. Your content and responsibility for it

  • Your data, documents and photos remain yours. You allow us to store and process them as needed to provide the service, and to publish them in the passports you create.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for the right to publish the documents included in a passport. CarPassport does not verify or certify a car's history: the passport shows what the owner entered and does not replace a technical inspection.
  • Fields read automatically from invoices and areas found with personal data may contain errors. You check them before saving or publishing.
  • Reminders are a help, not a guarantee. Meeting legal deadlines (MOT, insurance, road toll) remains your responsibility.

7. What you may not do

  • Enter false data or alter documents to mislead a buyer.
  • Upload illegal content or other people's personal data without the right to do so.
  • Try to access other people's accounts, get around the app's limits or disrupt the service.

If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account and turn off the passports you published.

8. Intellectual property

The app, the website, the CarPassport brand, their design and texts belong to us or are used under licence. You may not copy them or use them for anything other than using the service.

9. Availability and liability

We work to keep the service running without interruption, but there may be maintenance periods or faults. We may change or improve the app's features.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage, for decisions made based on data entered by users, or for missed legal deadlines. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer or our liability for intentional acts or gross negligence.

10. Stopping use of the service

You can stop using the service at any time by deleting your account in the app (Account deletion). Live passports are turned off with the account.

11. Changes to the terms

When we change these terms significantly, we tell you in the app and ask for your agreement again before you continue.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Romanian law. For any complaint, please write to us first at contact@navitech.systems so we can find a solution.

As a consumer, you can contact the Romanian National Authority for Consumer Protection (anpc.ro) or the alternative dispute resolution procedure (SAL). Disputes not settled amicably are resolved by the competent courts in Romania, without affecting the protection given to you by the law of the country where you live.
